Balls were completely identical, except that on a ball of the American league there was an inscription «Official American League» and the signature of the president of the American league dark blue ink, and on a ball of National league there was an inscription «Official National League» and the signature of the president of National league black ink.
Today for usual professional game some tens balls as they should be changed because of scratches, decolouration and pollution are used. Often sportsmen ask the fans who have caught balls, which have left a field for the important reasons (for example, for record installation) to return them. As a rule, the player in exchange for such ball gives to the fan bat with the autograph or other signed subject.
